Primitivism

This project was made in collaboration with Mateo Millet, a fashion designer from Spain.

I am taken to the concept of primitivism.
Jean-Jacques Rousseau was the creator of what is known as the "myth of L’ homme sauvage", an eighteenth-century ideology that proclaimed the human being good in his natural state but corrupt in society. Human corruption is a cultural, artificial and constructed issue.

Women have been denigrated objects in society throughout history.
In the 1960s, performance artists, such as Carolee Schneemann or Ana Mendieta, vindicated the female body with the meaning of Origin and Fertility that it has in primitive cultures.

What I cover in this project is the relationship between the primitive and the modern, and how, despite living in the 21st century, women's origin and fertility, with everything that goes with it, that is, menstruation, childbirth... Women are questioned too many times. In this collection, nature plays a primordial part of it. It connects the body to this very origin.
